In a recent challenge with a co-worker to 'craft' something using a strange crystal object I found myself making a very multi-media collage. I have never really tried anything like it and I am enjoying watching it come together. I started to poke around the internet and found an artist called Nina Farana...she makes amazing collages like The Reckoning. I'll post a picture of my finished piece as soon as I am finished with it :)

Here is the latest in homemade lighting, inspired from a solid black Baccarat chandelier I saw in a window on 59th and Lex...this was created using a metal frame from a cheap (but sturdy) Chinese lantern, leftover chandelier components and some loose crystal beads & pendants. All in all, about 40 hours of effort and one beautiful and deco chandelier to show for it.

The Swarovski Voyage Chandelier is next on my list of chandeliers....clearly a smaller and less finished version...but this is something that I'd like to make using a strand of christmas lights, some pre-wired beads I happen to have lying around and some clothes hangers. I'll post the result when I get around to it...
